I Mobile Stadium - Stadion Thailand Cita Rasa Premier League

*ditoyor masal*

I-Mobile is more than a football stadium
The I-Mobile stadium is hailed as  the largest, most beautiful and modern football stadium in the Kingdom of Thailand which meets the international standard.  The all-seater stadium is equipped with all the facilities imaginable to ensure the utmost convenience to the spectators.  It is the pride of not just the Buriram United football club which owns the stadium but also the pride of the people of the northeastern province of Buriram.
The stadium has the capacity to accommodate up to 24,000 spectators while its spacious parking lot can hold more than 2,500 cars plus over 6,000 motorcycles.
The lighting system produces illuminence of 1,700 lux making it perfect for football matches to be staged at night.
The football pitch is covered with Seashore Paspalum grass from Australia which is regarded as the most environmentally friendly warm-season turfgrass of the 21st century.  The grass is soft but highly tolerance for use on sports fields, including soccer, baseball and football and business landscape areas.  First originated from Africa, the Paspalum grass can tolerate a wide range of water resources and requires only minimal presticides and fertilizers.
The I-Mobile stadium has four stands with the main stand, Thunder Castle VIP, roofed.  The main or grand stand has the capacity to accommodate 6,575 spectators.  On top of that, there are 217 VIP seats, 98 seats for members of the media, 21 seats for the disabled and 40 reserve seats.
The main stand also houses one huge banquet room on the second floor which can fill in 1,000 football fans; nine VIP boxes and three other rooms for seminar or banquet on the third floor.  The fourth floor houses 15 VIP boxes which can accommodate up toe 217 VIP guests.  There are elevators for all the floors to ensure convenience.  There is also a shop where souvenirs of Buriram United football team such as T-shirts bearing the team’s logo are available for sale.
Opposite the grand stand is the Thunder Castle Hardcore stand which is reserved for hardcore fans of Buriram United as well as the ordinary spectators.  The stand can seat 7,5648 spectators plus 24 seats for the disabled.
The northern stand where the scoreboard is located can accommodate 4,659 spectators plus 24 seats for the disabled.  This stand is for fans of the visitor’s teams which, according to the rules of the Thai Premier League Company Limited, must reserve 20 percent of all the seats for the fans of the visitor’s teams.
The southern stand has 4,607 seats plus 24 seats for the disabled.
The stadium is easily accessible from different roads which will help ease traffic congestion on the days when football matches are held.
The huge tract of land in front of the stadium has been turned into a public park with a huge fountain so that the people in Buriram can come to exercise or rest besides visiting the stadium which has become a landmark of the province.
“This is the happiest day in my life,” said Mr Newin Chidchob, the main patron of Buriram United football club and the inspirational force behind the building of I-Mobile stadium.
“I-Mobile is the best, most beautiful and highest standard football stadium of Thailand now and for the future too because I will not stop at this stage but will do everything for Buriram to retain the “Number One” status in the Thai football circle,” said Mr Newin.
October 4, 2010 was the day when the first foundation pole was driven into the ground to mark the start of the construction of the I-Mobile stadium.
“It was not just the foundation pole that was driven into the ground.  There was my heart too and my heart is always here,” so said Mr Newin.
For Mr Newin, I-Mobile is more than just a football stadium.  It is a monument of faith, love and bond between him and the people of Buriram.

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS
Phnom Rung historical park
The historical park is located in Village 2 (Ban Don Nong Haen) in Tambon Ta Peh, Chalerm Phra Kiat district, about 77 kilometres southward of the township.  The main attraction is the Phnom Rung temple which is a Khmer temple complex set on the rim of an extinct volcano at 350 metres above sea level.  It was built in sandstone and laterite in the 10th to 13th century.  It was a Hindu shrine dedicated to Shiva and symbolizes Mount Kailash, his heavenly dwelling.

     Khao Kradong  park
The park is located in Ban Kok Muang, Tambon Charakae Mak, Prakonechai district, about eight kilometers from Phnom Rung historical park.

    Prasat Hin Muang Tum
It is a Khmer temple primarily in the Khleang and Baphun styles which dates its primary construction to the late 10th and early 11th century.  The primary diety is Shiva although Vishnu was also worshipped.

The temple is oriented towards the east like most Khmer temples.  It has a flat, concrete plan with a central sanctuary and two libraries surrounded by an inner enclosure, ponds and an outer enclosure.  The ponds between the enclosure are an unusual feature of the temple as is the central sanctuary which is not elevated and has its towers arranged in rows of three and two.
The temple can be reached by two routes.  The first is the Buriram-Nang Rong-Phnom Rung route.  About eight kilometers from Phnom Rung temple, take a right turn and go for another five kilometers and you will arrive at the destination.  The second route is via Buriram-Prakonechai.  Take highway 2221 from Prakonechai district for a distance of 13 kilometres and turn left into a road for another five kilometers and there it is.
The temple is open daily from 7.30 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Ticket is 10 baht for locals and 30 baht for foreigners.

     Sanam Bin reservoir
The reservoir is a sanctuary for water birds.  It is about 40 kilometres from the township.  The best months for bird watching are between November and April.
